Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. When you visit it, technically necessary data (e.g. IP address, date and time, requested page, browser) is processed in server log files in order to deliver the website and keep it secure. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Hetzner. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

No cookies

This website does not set cookies.

Web analytics with Plausible Analytics

To measure reach I use Plausible Analytics (Community Edition), which I run myself on the Hetzner server mentioned above. No data is passed to Plausible Insights OÜ or any other third party. Plausible does not set cookies or create persistent identifiers. A hash is generated from the IP address and user agent using a daily rotating salt that is deleted after 24 hours. Raw IP addresses are never stored. Only aggregated figures are collected, such as pages viewed, referrers, browser, operating system, device type and country. The data is processed exclusively in Germany. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is the anonymous analysis of website usage.

Guestbook

If you sign the guestbook, I store your name, your message, your doodle if you draw one and the time of the entry on my own server in Germany. Name, message and doodle are published once I have approved the entry. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by email, and I will then delete your entry. To prevent abuse, your IP address is kept in the server's memory for up to one hour and is not stored. Your browser solves a small computing task to show that it isn't a bot; no cookies or third-party services are involved.

Contact by email

If you email me, I process your details to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer needed.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.
